Job Title: Computer and Network Engineer

Status: Part-Time
Mainstream Technology Consultants (MTC), LLC provides outsourced managed IT services, voice over IP telephone systems, and cloud computing solutions. MTC is an IT partner for small and medium sized business’ in Gilroy, Morgan Hill, and the greater Silicon Valley. We provide companies with technology advice, planning, procurement, support and maintenance so our customers can focus on running their business.
The candidate must be able to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve computer, network, and internet related problems for our customer’s location.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and replace faulty computer and server hardware components.
- Diagnose and repair PC and server operating systems and software applications.
- Detect and clean malicious software including malware, adware, and infections.
- Backup, restore, and recover data from various partitions types
- Install, configure, and support computers, servers, switches, routers, printers, wireless devices, smart phones.
- Install and test Ethernet and Fiber Optic cabling.
- Troubleshoot, repair, re-install, and update applications
Qualifications
- Reliable transportation and proper insurance is mandatory.
- Minimum of 4 years IT repair and installation experience.
- Be familiar with all current Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Linux and Macintosh experience is a plus.
- Possess a thorough understanding of routers, access points, and TCP/IP in general.
- CompTIA, Cisco, and Microsoft certifications, college or technical school degrees, and other industry certifications are strongly preferred and considered over candidates who do not have them.
- Project management experience
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to create comprehensive technical documentation and drawings
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments
